Genians (CEO Dong-Beom Lee) announced on October 10 that it invested in ENKI, a startup company specializing in the intelligence analysis of threats, to strengthen service competence in response to intelligent malicious threats.
According to Genians, it decided on investment to strengthen the detection ability by applying ENKI’s threat intelligence analysis technology to “Genian Insights E,” the solution against intelligent threats based on Genians’ own terminals.
Having focused on the development of network and terminal-based security products, Genians was looking for a startup company that could cooperate in strengthening service competences in response to intelligent malicious threats.
Four teams from Korea -- △KaisHack+PLUS+GoN (7th), △koreanbadass (11th), △C.G.K.S. (15th), and △DEFKOR (HITCON winning team) – advanced to the final round of “DEF CON CTF 26,” the world's most prestigious international hacking competition dubbed the Hacking Olympics, after the preliminary round that lasted 48 hours from 09:00 May 12 to 09:00 in May 14 where Team SAMURAI ranked first with a score of 4,294 points.
The closing ceremony of “DEF CON 26,” the world's largest hackers’ festival, was held in Caesars Palace Hotel in Las Vegas from 4:30 pm on August 12. At this closing ceremony, a review of DEF CON was presented along with 50 various events. Black badges were awarded to participants who won the contest, with the results of the fiercely competitive two-day final round of the DC 26 CTF featuring 24 hacker teams boasting of the world’s best competence, announced.
As an alliance of three teams -- BoB completion trainees of Korea, ENKI employees, and members of security company and hacking group LEAVECAT -- team koreanbadass from Korea remained the leading group. Team koreanbadass even ranked first once at the early stage of the first day as it solved the assembly problem the fastest without any miscalculation.
Security startup company ENKI (CEO Hyun-Do Park) announced on September 5 that it will enter the Japanese security service market through the threat analysis service “Analyst.com.” .
The entry of ENKI into the Japanese market is the first case of supplying intelligence services -- which have been improved in Korea -- overseas. ENKI signed an exclusive service contract with Emeral, which provided security services to renowned Japanese companies, and it is scheduled to provide services in Japan.
The employees of ENKI continue to hone their skills through participation in world hacking contests, submission and operation of problems to hacking contests, and reports of vulnerabilities.
